CLEVELAND – The Coast Guard suspended its search at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday for the missing 73-year-old man in Lake Erie off of Conneaut Harbor, Ohio.

Coast Guard Sector Eastern Great Lakes watchstanders received a report at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday of an overturned 22-foot vessel with three people who entered the water approximately 9 miles offshore. A good Samaritan rescued two of the boaters, who were reportedly uninjured and in good health.

Coast Guard assets searched a total of 9 square nautical miles for 7.5 total hours.

Involved in the search:

  • Coast Guard Station Fairport 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew
  • Coast Guard Air Station Detroit MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew

  • Conneaut Fire Department

Coast Guard, partner agencies searching for 1 after boat overturns near Conneaut, Ohio

CLEVELAND – The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for a person who entered the water afteravessel overturned near Conneaut, Ohio, Wednesday.

Missing is a 73-year-old man.

Coast Guard Sector Eastern Great Lakes watchstanders received notification at 10:50 a.m. of an overturned22-foot vessel with three people who entered the waterapproximately9miles offshore.

A good Samaritan rescued two of the boaters, who were reportedly uninjured and in good health. Involved in the search:
