AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy — An active-duty Airman, assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing, Aviano Air Base, Italy, was pronounced dead at their off-base residence Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

The cause of death is currently under investigation; the Airman’s name will be released 24 hours after next-of-kin notification.
